I purchased these jeans for my husband. Levis 505 are the only jeans he will wear. They fit in the waist, but the seat and legs are much larger than they are on his other 505s and really baggy. He’s in his 50’s so he’s not looking for pants that like they are falling off! We’ve never run into this with Levis before. Are these seconds?

As others have noted, the sizes seem to vary. Even though I ordered the same size as 4 or 5 other pair of Levis 505 that fit me fine, these are loose around the waist. I don’t like wearing belts.

This is the second pair of levi’s i ordered through amazon. it was identical to the first pair except the first was made in lesotho the second in egypt. both were 36×29, but the second, the one under review here, the one of egyptian manufacture, was somewhat tighter, really almost too tight, and the button hole was too small, had to be forced. clearly levi strauss no longer has the standard for which they were famous, and here as in so much else caveat emptor (latin for ‘buyer beware’).

I’m giving these only four stars because these are considerably longer than any other 38×34 that I have tried. I also have a few others 505 relaxed fit models and these fit differently. They are still very comfortable and nice looking, and for $32 shipped, I think they are an awesome deal.

These are my favorite everyday jeans. The reason for the 3star rating is this: The last couple of years I have had a problem with the inside upper corners of the back pockets. They wear out too fast. Mine tear at that point every time. I have taken to ironing patches in them to offset this and it lasts awhile. Also I have gotten several pairs where the seam on the left leg after washing settles in uneven…the right leg no problem the left comes around to the front, almost half way, and they hang this way out of the dryer. This is an obvious defect in the manufacturing process or pattern. I returned one pair to Levi Strauss and I have another pair I just bought doing the same thing. An obvious lack of quality control. I really like these 505’s, aside from these problems they are still the standard. I just wish Levi would address it.
